DOLORES DEL RÍO


Dolores del Río used to remember that in his childhood she was bred like a princess and who her mother, Doña Antonia Lopez Negrete and Lopez, was so proud of her aristocratic origin that traveled to all parts with enormous legacy in which it conserved documents profession of notary who certificated the nobility of their familiar lineage, which went back to the Spain of the Colony.

Dolores Asúnsolo and Lopez Negrete were the only daughter of the marriage formed by Doña Antonia and Jesus Leonardo Asúnsolo, prosperous cattle dealer and original retailer of Chihuahua. She was indeed in a dance recital where the young person Dolores knew Jaime Martinez del Río, a refined and cultured heir, with whom contracted nuptials only two months later. In Hollywood, Dolores del Río filmed more than thirty films, divorced of her first husband, she married with the theatrical designer Cedric Gibbons and she became an international celebrity. When her fame entered declivity returned to Mexico, without imagining that she would initiate a new and successful career. In our country she got to be one of the most important figures of the national cinema where made more than 30 films. Also played in theater, dying finally in the year of 1983 like a true diva of our filmic industry.
